Stepper Case, which is being developed by domestic indie game developer Tim Tetrapod, is a mystery game that reads case data and combines suspicious clues to uncover the truth of the crime. However, since the background of the game is a world where superpowers called ‘steppers’ exist, there are many attempts to cover up the crime using this. The player must solve the case as a new investigator ‘Notrick’ of the ‘Mana Incident Task Force’ that specializes in these crimes.
Tricks appearing in the game are deeply related to the supernatural powers of the criminal. Therefore, ordinary investigation cannot solve the case, and the case must be solved by referring to the data related to the supernatural powers of the suspects. Here, not only the suspect but also all the investigators (except the newcomer Notrick) have their own superpowers, so the results of investigating the case come into the hands of the player one following another. Its main task is to find contradictions and solve riddles between them.
There are various types of case data, from documents recording the superpowers of suspects to records investigated by colleagues using their superpowers, and each document contains more than 5 clues. By combining specific parts of the document and finding new facts little by little, you can arrive at the identity of the culprit.
The stepper case is under development with a target of March 10, 2023, and crowdfunding is also planned from September 10.
