Carvalhal: This factor in the unity offer made me prefer him to Spain and England

Carlos Carvalhal, the unit’s technical director, admitted that the long-term contracts offered to him prevented him from taking up a new experience in Europe.

Carvalhal joined Al Saada in June from Portuguese club Sporting Braga, where he is embarking on his first training adventure at the level of the Gulf.

The 56-year-old revealed, “I was regarding to train in the Spanish League following I received two offers from La Liga, but the project I was waiting for did not come true.”

He continued, speaking to the Portuguese newspaper, “Abola”, “The same is true for training in England and South America.”

And Carvalhal explained, “Most of the offers were regarding contracting for two or three seasons, while I chose to go through the experience with Al-Wahda for one season.”

The former defender did not hide his happiness with the experience he is currently living with the owners, as they prepare for the start of the upcoming 2022-2023 season.

In this regard, Carvalhal said, “I had the desire to take on a new challenge, which I found in ‘Al Nahyan Stadium’ through the ambitions and aspirations of the management of Al Wahda Club.”
