After the body of the deceased was buried under the guard of eight officers, and the ceremonies were held to the sound of death, played by a group of security forces music elements, led by the campaign of decorations and wreaths, the commander of the Internal Security Forces Institute, Brigadier General Ahmed Al-Hajjar, delivered a speech on behalf of the General Directorate of the Security Forces, in which he said: To the soul of the Ambassador, Major General Ahmed Othman Al-Hajj, may God have mercy on him, and may he rest in peace, to the honorable family of the deceased, Major General Ahmed Al-Hajj, may God have mercy on him, leave us, leaving a career full of achievements, a fragrant biography full of honesty and purity, and a legacy rich in science and sophistication. His good spirit is present in us, and his memory remains in the hearts of his loved ones who knew him as a generous man, a brave officer, a father, a guide, and a teacher who carried the trust faithfully and remained until his last days a beacon illuminating the darkness of the road, and a good example in a time when examples were few. Not only was he not a diplomat who decorated the biography with titles only, but he was one of the banners of the generation of sacrifice, honor and loyalty, a man of the great men of Lebanon who carried the message of the state to all parts of the world. His eyes came to light, a boy who carried the scepter of determination in one hand, and the brigade of ambition in the other. He assumed the sword in the rank of lieutenant in the Lebanese army on 9-1-1950, and was promoted until he was promoted to the rank of major general on 1-1-1980. A struggle journey Long starting from the elementary school in Barja, all the way to obtaining graduate degrees in general economics, law, political history, and contemporary international relations… which refined his unique personality, so he drew the attention of the army chief, the late President Fouad Shehab, who assigned him the tasks sensitive. There are many high positions that Major General Al-Hajj held, and they are essential and pivotal positions in the history of Lebanon, the most important of which is that he was an officer in the General Staff, a liaison officer and head of the military room in the Republican Palace during the era of the late President Fouad Chehab, the architect of the historic meeting of the tent, the commander of the military school, the commander The Institute of Education and the Higher Military Training Center, Commander of the Arab Deterrence Forces, Ambassador of Lebanon in Britain and non-resident Ambassador to Ireland, Ambassador of Lebanon in Rome, and one of the founders of the Forum of Ambassadors of Lebanon and the Fouad Chehab Foundation and its honorary president. He was also appointed Director-General of the Internal Security Forces from 4-14-1977 until 15-12-1982. He was a role model in leadership and a symbol of integrity, credibility and sincerity, and presented the institution with countless achievements at all levels, the effects and imprints of which are still clear today.

This is all just the tip of the iceberg. The list of positions held by our dear deceased may be long, and the list of decorations may be long as well, from the National Cedar Medal at the rank of Senior Officer to the War Medal to the Lebanese Order of Merit of the First Class to the Merit Medal from the Ministry of the Interior to the Papal Medal to the Palestine Commemorative Medal, but it is all a testimony. The truth is that he was a man of achievements not positions, a man of sacrifices, not personal benefits. Major General Ahmed Al-Hajj witnessed many struggles and transformations in his life filled with giving, and he remained faithful to his oath, adhering to the one Lebanon. Neither the military prevented the politician and the diplomat, nor the politician the patriot, for he knew how to balance them all, and until the last breath he remained a man of the whole nation, not a man of anyone.
You have from us, Major General, all the appreciation and gratitude. Salute to your pure soul. I lived on the right and died on the right. On behalf of His Excellency the Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Judge Bassam Mawlawi, and on behalf of the Director General of the Internal Security Forces, Major General Imad Othman, and on my own behalf, I extend my sincere condolences and sympathy to the family of the deceased Ambassador, Major General Ahmed Othman Al-Hajj. We ask God for mercy and acceptance, and for his family patience and solace.”

Prayers were recited over the body of the deceased, to be buried later in the grave.
