String concert under candlelight

The Ambitus string quartet returns to Laval soil on Friday, September 23 at 8 p.m. at the Sainte-Béatrice church, located at 475, avenue des Perron, in Auteuil, to once once more present its show composed of the most beautiful melodies in the world, but passably amended.

Although the principle is the same, ie a quartet of violins playing popular pieces in an atmosphere most conducive to listening, the concert will surprise the spectators.

“We don’t do a traditional concert, warns Michel Corbeil, producer of the Grands Concerts sous les Candles. The jokes and anecdotes regarding the artists add a unique touch to the evening. We want people to dive into amazement in order to head towards wonder.”

To start the evening, following the Canon by Pachelbel, the musicians will play a medley of Jacques Brel classics.

Then, The Last of the Mohicans will also be in the program of the first part of the concert and this will end with three excerpts from the opera Carmen by Georges Bizet.

The second part will open with Ravel’s Boléro and will be followed by a surprise piece that will charm the audience.

later will follow Palladio by Karl Jenkins as well as a second medley, but of Jewish music this time.

The concert will end in nostalgia with the most beautiful melodies of The Beatles.

Musicians

The Ambitus ensemble is made up of the Bouchard family, Karine, Isabelle on the violin and David on the cello, as well as Vincent Delorme on the viola.

Since the latter master the concert more and more, the artists allow themselves to be more expressive during the concert.

It happens that some start dancing on stage while playing their instrument.

It should be noted that Isabelle Bouchard participated in several concerts with the Orchester symphonique de Montréal this summer and her sister, Karine, was in the 2014-2015 season of Angèle Dubeau and the Pietà.

The concert The most beautiful melodies in the world by the Ambitus quartet will be presented on September 23, at 8 p.m., at the Sainte-Béatrice church (475, avenue des Perrons), in Auteuil. Tickets will be on sale at the door. It is possible to book them on the website of the Grand Concerts under the candles.
