Malappuram ∙ A young man has been arrested in connection with the suicide of a girl who was upset that the love that started when she was studying in class 8 ended at the age of 22. The young man’s fiance was arrested for mental torture and suicide incitement. Ashwin was arrested by the Areekode police in Kaitamannil, North Keezhuparam.
Manya of Thrikalayur Valillapuzha Cheenathumkandi hanged herself six months ago in her bedroom following losing her love for ten years. On the complaint of Manya’s family, Arikode police registered a case and following conducting an investigation, the fiance Ashwin was arrested.

The two were in love since eighth grade. Both the families got engaged in September 2021. Ashwin, who went to Gulf for work, had a fight with Manya on the phone and broke up. After a fight over the phone, Manya hanged herself at home because of Ashwin’s withdrawal from the marriage.
Ashwin, who was abroad, called Manya’s family and found Manya hanging. After checking Manya’s phone, the police got the voice messages and other information of the two. The suspect who came from abroad was arrested under the leadership of Inspector M. Abbasali. The accused was remanded to the court.
