The next Assassin’s Creed in Baghdhad would be called Mirage

With a remake of the first Assassin’s Creed?

Waiting qu’Ubisoft unveils the future of Assassin’s Creed in its next Forward planned for September 10rumors are multiplying around the next installment of the franchise… which would actually be un spin-off. And Eurogamer and the journalist Jason Schreier already had revealed the nature of the title which will allow players to embody Basim met in Valhalla for a trip to Baghdadtoday is the French YouTuber j0nathan which brings us new information regarding the game named Mirage.

According to the videographer who had access to first-hand information, Assassin’s Creed: Mirage would take place between 860 and 870 during the period known as Anarchy in Samarra, where the Abbasid Caliphate is marked by extreme political instability. We would then follow Basim’s youththen local thief in the city of Bagdad until it is picked up by Those we don’t see. Assassin’s Creed: Mirage – code name Rift – would be planned for early 2023.

As several rumors had already relayed, it would indeed be a question of a return to the sourceswith un aspect RPG absentup to the narration which would once more be linear and without choice of dialogues. We would then be moving strongly away from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, with new more classic gameplay opportunities, but with new animations. It also calls for a return of the vision of the eaglegood than a companion bird will always be there to get a better overview of the surroundings. Many cities would be visitable, with old school level design et transitions between each, i.e. without open world.

Where j0nathan’s investigation takes on depth is when the YouTuber reveals that Mirage would be fertile ground to prepare a remake from the very first Assassin’s Creed. Yes, the one out in 2007 with Altaïr as the protagonist. This remake would be integrated into the Assassin’s Creed Mirage Season Pass, while that a future DLC would take place in Constantinoplerecounting the meeting between Basim and Sigurd.

Nothing is true, everything is permitted

With so much information suddenly, it is very difficult to know whether the content of j0nathan’s video is credible or owns a kernel of truthbut nothing less was needed for Jason Schreier to get involved and react quickly on Twitter.

According the Bloomberg reportersomeone close to the development is able to confirm the title of the future game (Assassin’s Creed: Mirage), while some of its content is said to be true. Unfortunately, apart from the information already shared in his published article at the beginning of the yearSchreier will not get wet confirming which points are closest to the truthapart from the fact that only the city of Baghdad would be on the program:

Similarly, in a reply to another tweet, Jason Schreier is dubious regarding this story of a remake of the first Assassin’s Creed, going so far as to doubt Ubisoft’s plans for DLC potential. For the journalist, Rift was supposed to be a spin-off with rather modest ambitions, not a full-fledged franchise installment.

At the same time, we will also wait the Forward of September 10 to perhaps find out what Ubisoft intends to do with the famous Assassin’s Creed: Infinity projecta platform designed for the long term which should host all future experiences franchise-related. Assassin’s Creed will become a service gamequoi.
