More than 2,000 affected households in Hsinchu City were affected by power outage without warning

There was a power outage in the evening along Scenic Avenue and Xinxiang Street in Hsinchu City. Taipower Hsinchu District Sales Office stated that more than 2,000 households were out of power due to an equipment accident in the power supply line. After the Taipower Company’s Hsinchu Sales Office dispatched personnel to inspect and repair, the power supply has been restored at 7:51 pm one following another.

Taipower’s Hsinchu District Sales Office notified through a text message that at around 5:36 in the evening, due to an accident in the power supply line equipment, more than 2,000 households in Hsinchu City’s Hsinxiang Street area were out of power.

The power outage was regarding 2 hours before and following. After the Taipower Company’s Hsinchu Sales Office dispatched personnel to inspect and repair, the power supply has been restored at 7:51 pm.

Some netizens posted in the community PTT (PTT) that the traffic lights on Jingjing Avenue were completely off at night, but there were police officers directing traffic at the intersection, which made them feel warm.

Wang Xinhong, head of the Hsinchu City Police Department’s Zhonghua Police Station, said that in the evening, he received a notification from the public that the signs in Jingjing Avenue were faulty and the street lights were not on.
