NASA published a video clip that monitors the features and effects of the solar eclipse on the surface of Mars.

The clip, captured by NASA’s Rovers, Opportunity, and Curiosity, documented the moments when sunlight was blocked out on Mars.

The difference in the features of the phenomenon when compared to Earth is due to the fact that the Earth’s moon takes 27 days to complete its cycle, while Phobos orbits Mars once every 7.65 hours.

Deimos also revolves around Mars every 30.35 hours.

Phobos is larger than Deimos, blocking 40% of sunlight.
