Ace Kyungam Chairman Ahn Yoo-soo donated 3 billion won worth of rice for 24 years

Ace Kyungam Foundation Chairman Ahn Yoo-soo (pictured) donated 140 million won worth of rice to Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, on the 30th, ahead of Chuseok. 5,900 bags of rice (10 kg) donated will be delivered to the elderly living alone and the heads of boys and girls.

Chairman Ahn, the founder of Ace Bed, has been donating rice to the underprivileged on holidays such as Lunar New Year and Chuseok every year since 1999. The rice donation amounted to 13,660 bags over the past 24 years until this year. When converted into monetary terms, this amounts to 30 million won. Chairman Ahn said, “Due to the soaring price of dining tables, it is difficult for many elderly people living alone, boys and girls to settle for one meal even on Chuseok, a national holiday,” said Chairman Ahn. said.

He is also passionate regarding social contribution activities. He donated 600 million won on two occasions to support the restoration of damage from forest fires in the Goseong region of Gangwon-do and the east coast. He donated 1.5 billion won to improve the treatment of firefighters. He has also run a canteen for seniors living alone and a senior citizen’s center.
