Some people suffer from different types of psychological trauma, which may result in exposure to certain negative situations, such as the loss of a loved one, betrayal from close people, or others.

1- Do not isolate yourself
When exposed to psychological trauma, most people prefer social isolation and staying alone all the time, but this will not help to overcome the problem, but rather should communicate with friends and family members, especially those who have gone through the same experience.
2- Seek medical help
If your feelings in the first month following the event are so severe that they interfere with your normal life, and you experience sadness, fear and depression, seek out a mental health professional for help.

3- Face the shock and don’t evade it
Some may try to ignore or forget a traumatic event. A key component of recovery is learning to be okay with your memories of them and the things they bring up without trying to avoid them. Facing those feelings helps recovery.
4- Doing sports
Experts say it is one of the most effective ways to deal with the harmful effects of experiencing a traumatic event – deep breathing, stretching and walking.
5- Listen to your body
Your body will tell you what to do to heal, so you must listen, eat healthy meals, rest, and do the things that make you happy, such as reading, watching games, etc.
6- Stay away from alcohol
Drinking alcoholic beverages is one of the ways some people resort to to escape the effects of psychological trauma, by numbing feelings or forgetting things, but it can cause long-term harm, by exposing the person to mental and physical problems.
7- Go back to your routine
Ordinary life can be disrupted by a traumatic event, and one of the best ways to overcome it is to get back into your daily agenda as soon as possible, to regain a sense of control over life.
8- Fix small problems
Take the time to solve the little problems in your life so they don’t pile up and put more pressure on you. If you have big problems, break them down, set some priorities, and then tackle them when you can.

9- Evaluation
You can relieve stress caused by traumatic events by taking a step back and assessing your life and focusing on what’s important, strengthening bonds with family, friends and community, reassessing personal goals and coming up with a plan to reach them.
You can also participate in volunteer work with charities, and these things can help overcome the stress of trauma.
It’s important to realize that it’s okay to feel joy, celebrate successes, and enjoy the warmth of family and friends following a traumatic event.
