KBS selected comedian Kim Shin-young (pictured) as the new MC for the National Singing Contest. KBS announced on the 29th that “Kim Shin-young will lead the nationwide singing contest starting on October 16th.” Former MC Song Hae took charge of the national song show from May 1988 until his death in June, and traveled across the country to share the joys and sorrows with the people.
Kim has been recognized for her competence as a host, such as DJing for a long time on the radio ‘This is Kim Shin-young’s Hope Song at Noon’.
He was active as ‘Second Aunt Da-bi Kim’, a secondary character (sub-character), and has recently been active as an all-round entertainer, such as appearing in director Park Chan-wook’s ‘Decision to break up’. He said, “I grew up with the National Singing Contest, and it is an honor for my family to be selected as the successor.”
