Now three days from the start of EuroBasket 2022, the Blues roster is almost final. Today, it is Isaïa Cordinier who has left the France group, which therefore leaves twelve players under the command of Vincent Collet. There are two days left for the coach to formalize his list for the competition.
Already thirteenth man a year ago at the time of the Tokyo Olympics, Isaïa Cordinier is regarding to experience a new disappointment in the tricolor jersey. Present with the Blues since the beginning of the preparation, the Virtus Bologna player had a real chance of participating in the Euro but he was the victim of the rise of Terry Tarpey, the nice surprise of the tricolor preparation. The back therefore left the France group today. On the site of the French Basketball Federation, coach Vincent Collet wanted to thank Cordinier while explaining (a little) his choice.

If the back did not deserve on this preparation, he especially pays the competition of Tarpey, whose defensive profile on the outsides is particularly valuable, especially given the absences in the group (Batum, Ntilikina). If the list is now reduced to twelve members, it is however not official. As the Federation says in its press release, “the final selection of the twelve players is not determined”. This uncertainty is mainly due to the Moustapha Fall case, touched in the thigh at the beginning of August but not yet completely forfeited for the Euro. The pivot, announced forfeit at the beginning of the month, has apparently still not given up on competition and is working hard to return in time. Boris Diaw, manager of the French team, also opened the door a few days ago to the return of the player to the group. If Fall were to win his bet, it is Mouhammadou Jaiteh who would risk losing his place in the twelve. The final list must be unveiled no later than Wednesday, so there are two days left for the pivot of Olympiakos to convince Vincent Collet.
