According to the “Daily Mail”, 36-year-old Igor Mangushev said on stage that it was the skull of a “soldier from Azov”.

In his speech, the mercenary from Moscow made several inflammatory statements.

“We are alive, but this guy [en faisant référence à son crâne] is already dead. We’re going to make a goblet out of his skull. We are at war with the idea that Ukraine is an anti-Russian state. There can be no peace. We must de-Ukrainize Ukraine. It will be a tragedy for the Ukrainian soldiers, and we don’t care how many soldiers we will have to kill. All defenders of Ukrainian ideology must be killed,” he said.

Igor Mangushev is the head of an ultranationalist movement in Russia, which many believe is associated with the FSB, the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation.

The gesture of the Russian mercenary would violate an article of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, namely article 244, which prohibits the “profanation of the bodies of the dead”.

Publicly brandishing a person’s skull is also considered a war crime, according to the International Criminal Court.

The place where the ultranationalist’s speech was delivered might not be confirmed by the “Daily Mail”, as was the date of the event.

Several people on Twitter called on the international community to apply more sanctions once morest Russia following the excerpt appeared.
