“When I arrived, they were on the ground, dead” (photo)

Marcel Goris, 78, received unwanted visitors overnight from Friday to Saturday. Fourteen of his twenty pigeons were fatally bitten on the neck, report our colleagues from GVA.

“When I arrived to feed them, the pigeons were dead, on the ground,” recalls Marcel, who suspects martens of being responsible for this massacre.

One of the victims is a pigeon which had been awarded several times during pigeon races in Quiévrain. “It was worth several thousand euros”, regrets the pigeon fancier, who said he had to digest what happened before considering the rest.
