Egypt Post reveals the fees for sending shipments and parcels abroad

The General Authority of Egypt Post revealed the fees for sending parcels outside the country, in response to a question received on its official page on the social networking platform “Facebook”, regarding the details of sending a shipment to the United States of America.

And the mail page answered the question, that sending to the US states is via the “Parcel Express” service; It is a service that enables users to ship packages that they want to send outside Egypt, and to track their geographical arrival via the Internet.

The Postal Authority indicated that the shipment or parcel is sent through that service in an average of 3 to 4 working days, which may increase or decrease, from the day following the shipment is delivered at the post office, pointing out that the maximum weight of the shipment is 30 kilograms.

The authority clarified that the fees or cost of sending shipments and parcels abroad through the Egyptian post offices are made according to the following details:

– If the shipment weighs 500 grams, the first to be sent by mail, it costs regarding 540 pounds.

The price of repeating the first tranche is 135 pounds.

– 14% tax + 3 EGP insurance is added to the total amount paid for postage.

Receiving remittances in foreign currencies from abroad

In another context, the Egyptian Post Authority announced the possibility of receiving foreign remittances in foreign currencies through the “external addition” service.

She explained that it is possible to send funds from abroad using the external addition service, provided that the funds are transferred in the equivalent in Egyptian pounds.

It is worth noting that, through the international money transfer service, it is possible to send and receive money across many countries, through electronic data exchange, using advanced data encryption technologies.

This service has many advantages; Most notably, the transfer of money from one country to another in a safe and secure manner, in addition to the fact that this service is subject to the system and regulations of the Universal Postal Union.
