Bringing together local and international artists, the free event welcomed more than 2,000 spectators on Thursday 25 August. “Culture will not be an adjustment variable,” asserted Department President François Sauvadet.
The 7th edition of the K6FM showcase, organized this Thursday August 25, 2022 in the Jardins du Département, presented a varied set to more than 2,000 spectators present during the evening, according to the organizers.
In partnership with the departmental council of the Côte-d’Or, the event makes it possible to discover emerging or confirmed artists, local, national and international, during a succession of concerts of a few pieces.
“We need this part of the dream”
“Culture will not be an adjustment variable,” claimed François Sauvadet (LCOP), president of the Department, opening the evening of the “back-to-school concert” of the community.
“We are waiting for all the messages of difficulty that the families are experiencing, but we also need dreams, enthusiasm, to find each other. We have passed the Covid periods. (…) We want a popular culture, accessible to all, family. This meeting will be maintained, we will continue to support our artists, we need them, we need this part of the dream, ”he added.
“On behalf of our 60,000 listeners, we are very happy to be here with you every year. I hope it will last a very, very long time because it’s a real moment of pleasure, ”said Franck Pelloux, director of K6FM, before passing the microphone to Anthony Buonocore, speaker of the DFCO, who hosted the evening.
Three groups from Côte-d’Or
The concert series began with the well-attended performance of City Zen Kane whose musicians have revisited pop, rock and even soul standards.
Mike Hauntedsynth and guitar, and Chris KDsynth and vocals, have chained for dreamlike electro-pop compositions tinged with the spirit of the 1980s. Two clips are to be discovered via social media.
Apolline and Zoé, the two guitarist cousins of Copy Cat, have taken up the torch for a set this time moving towards pop and folk, mixing covers and original songs. An EP, “Clotilde”, in tribute to their grandmother, is available on the right platforms.
Four groups with national and international influence
The first national artist to appear on stage was place’, living between France and Australia and noticed for his album “Be / Being” – including the title “I believed” – which will soon be followed by a new opus. Particularly energetic, the singer made the public of the Gardens stand up.
The Swiss singer Stéphane took over for a set including his very first title “Pain I flee” as well as the new track “Green Dream”, with heady sounds.
Jonathan and Maxime Verleysen, the two brothers composing Elephanz, went on stage for a set eagerly awaited by the public. They were joined by Liv Del Estal to close the performance. Their electro album “Time for a Change” was nominated for the Victoires de la Musique 2014. A new opus is planned in the coming months.
The very last intervention was provided by Yogan Le Fouler-Barthel, Jérémy Benichou and Valentin Franceries, united within Fauna Diva. The electro-pop set had a particularly enthusiastic audience dancing, waving arms, turning on smartphones and “taking off for the stars”, notably with the track “Shooting to the Stars”.
At the end of the concert, François Sauvadet warmly congratulated the musicians of Diva Faune for whom he said he had a real “coup de coeur”.
