Confidential PDI reports detailing telephone interceptions made to the spokesman for the Arauco Malleco Coordinator, Héctor Llaitul, revealed a conversation in which the CAM leader criticizes and analyzes a possible expulsion of young Pablo Marchant, who died last year in the midst of a shootout with Carabineros in Carahue.

In the midst of the arrest and subsequent preventive detention of the CAM leader, Héctor Llaitul, two confidential PDI reports were revealed detailing telephone interceptions made to the spokesperson for the Coordinadora Arauco Malleco.

– “I think I am going to expel him. When I see him, I’m going to sing him the letter, if I don’t slaughter him first.”

Llaitul would later change his tone and opinion following the death of Pablo Marchant.

-“We, even today, feel Pablo Marchant present. We feel him close, because his püllü (his spirit) is not outside of the fight that we develop. He is in the wenumapu (heaven inhabited by gods), he is traveling in the wenumapu and in the specific wenumapu, the lif wenumapu (clear sky), the place where our fütakeche kuyfi llem are, our ancestors who fought. (…) There’s Toño Marchant,” said the CAM leader in an interview with the English-language site Chile Today and the Werkén Noticias portal, broadcast on July 21.
