Mohamed Saadallah, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Supply in Alexandria, said that the categories entitled to the additional support announced by the Ministry of Supply and scheduled for early next month have been identified, according to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s directives within the social protection programs.
He added, during an intervention with the media, Jaber Al-Qarmouti, on the “Manchet” program, which is broadcast on the “cbc” channel: “The target groups are the most needy groups, who receive a guarantee pension, a solidarity pension, dignity and a government pension less than 2500 pounds and a maximum of 2700 pounds, and their actual number 8 million cards and 36 million beneficiaries, which is more than 50% of the total beneficiaries of ration cards.
He said: “The additional support is 100 pounds over the basic support for a period of 6 months for the card with one family, and 200 pounds for the card with two families, and a text message will reach the eligible people.
He continued, “There are 4 new commodities that will be added to the ration cards starting next September, bringing the total of ration commodities spent on the ration card to 30 commodities.”
