Data released by the Federal Statistics Office yesterday showed that the German economy achieved growth in the second quarter, exceeding analyst expectations, supported by private sector and government spending despite the energy crisis.
The office said: Europe’s largest economy grew by 0.1 percent on a quarterly basis and by 1.7 percent on an annual basis following adjusting for price impact factors. “Despite the difficulties … and the conditions of the global economy, the German economy remained coherent in the first two quarters of 2022,” said Director of the Federal Statistics Office, Georg Thiel.
