Norwegian striker Erling Haaland, Manchester City striker, was criticized and ridiculed by followers on social media, following he received a controversial penalty kick during his team’s friendly match once morest Barcelona.
Manchester City drew 3-3 with Barcelona in a charity friendly match held at the “Spotify Camp Nou” stadium on Wednesday evening.
While the result indicated that Barcelona had advanced once morest Manchester City 3-2 until the seventh minute of stoppage time in the second half, the referee awarded a controversial penalty kick to the English team, from which Riyad Mahrez scored the fatal equalizer.

And according to the British newspaper “Daily Mail”, the fans accused Halland, on social media, of deliberately falling into the penalty area, before Andreas Christensen, the new Barcelona defender, touched him.
One follower wrote on Twitter, “Haaland should have gotten a gold medal following the diving shot.”
Another follower said, “Haaland’s diving shot was ridiculous,” while another wrote, “Haaland’s diving shot is the most shameful shot I’ve ever seen.”
Another fan said, “Haaland deserved to get a red card,” while another fan wrote, “Sometimes I hate football because of shots like Haaland diving in.”
