Al-Marsad Newspaper: Cardiology consultant, Dr. Khaled Al-Juhani, revealed the average age of the people who underwent cardiac catheterization, referring to a young man who underwent cardiac catheterization at the age of 19.
Al-Juhani said, during an intervention on “Sky” on the “Al-Rased” program: “The average age of people who have had cardiac catheterization operations is smaller compared to their counterparts in North America for many reasons.”
He attributed the reasons to the spread of diabetes in Saudi Arabia and high family cholesterol, which causes atherosclerosis, in addition to smoking.
And regarding the average age of people who underwent cardiac catheterization, he mentioned: “The cases of acute stroke were in the fifties and sixties.”
He continued, “In the Middle East, the youngest patient who had a cardiac catheterization and a stent insertion was 19 years old, and the only danger to him was that he was a heavy pectin smoker a day, which caused him to have a stroke.”
