Greek forward Dimitrios Diamantakos at Kerala Blasters FC. The club is pleased to announce that it has reached an agreement with Diamantakos. The 29-year-old forward joined Kerala Blasters from Croatian top division club HNK Hajduk Split (DIMITRIOS DIAMANTAKOS at Kerala Blasters).
The striker started his youth career with Greek club Atromitos Piraeus. In 2009, he joined the youth team of Olympiakos. Good performances in the Under-19 League and Youth Champions League earned him a contract with the club’s senior team. Between 2012 and 2014 he played on loan for various Greek clubs such as Panionios Athens, Aris Thessaloniki and Ergotelis FC. He scored 14 goals in 49 appearances before returning to Olympiakos. Scored four goals in 17 games at Olympiakos.
A new and long chapter in his career happened in 2015. Diamantakos joined German Bundesliga second division club Karlsruhe SC on loan. The following summer, he signed a permanent contract with the German club. It was the beginning of a six-year playing career in Germany. Also played for VFL Bochum and FC St. Pauli clubs. He scored 34 goals and created eight chances in over 100 appearances during this period.
In July 2020, he signed a three-year contract with Croatian top division club Hajduk Split. He appeared in more than 30 matches. Before joining Blasters, Dimitrios was on loan with Israeli club FC Ashdod. Dimitrios has represented Greece at all youth levels. Scored 19 goals in 46 matches. He was with the runner-up team in the European Under-19 Championship. With the second top scorer in the tournament. Diamantakos has played five times for the Greece national team. Played under former Premier League champion coach Claudio Ranieri.
