Eight Moroccan craft companies participated in the summer edition of the prestigious New York Now Fair, which took place this year from August 14 to 17 at the Javits Center in New York. These companies, all created and managed by women, were selected by the Maison de l’Artisan according to the criteria and standards of the American market.
These eight companies that took place in the Morocco Pavilion, also benefited from logistical support arrangements to access the American market as part of the efforts made by the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts and the Social and Solidarity Economy. and the Maison de l’Artisan to promote Moroccan craftsmanship and develop exports of its products to international markets, in particular the American market, the leading export market with more than 36% of Moroccan craftsmanship exports to end of July 2022.
Thanks to products inspired by the exceptional richness of Moroccan heritage and know-how, Moroccan participation in this prestigious fair was met with real enthusiasm from the main market players (professional buyers, specifiers, designers, etc.). As proof, five of the eight Moroccan companies were finalists in their respective categories, among 2,500 brands and manufacturers present, and three of them won the first prizes, including the most prestigious, namely the prize for the best product of the Salon. .
As a reminder, the New York Now Show is the main North American show dedicated to gifts, decorative objects, accessories and design objects related to the home. This BToB show brings together twice a year producers, brands, buyers and designers from around forty countries.
