American-Airlines-FlugUS plane has to land in Zurich – police escort passengers out of the machine

Flight AA334 should have flown direct from New York to Athens on Thursday. For safety reasons, however, the pilot decided to make a stopover in Zurich.

American Airlines flight AA334 en route from New York to Athens made an unscheduled landing at Zurich Airport. A news scout reports that police officers have entered the Boeing 777-223.

The Zurich cantonal police confirmed the incident. The pilot of the machine in question reported a so-called “unruly passenger” and decided to stopover in Zurich for safety reasons, as Alexander Renner, media spokesman for the Zurich cantonal police, announced on request. “The passenger was escorted off the plane by the police.” The incident is now being investigated further. “However, there was no danger to people,” Renner continued.

An Unruly Passenger is a passenger who acts aggressively or violently towards other passengers or the crew, or who damages the aircraft. At 11:52 a.m., the machine took off once more in Zurich and is heading for Athens.
