Plain language: the climate bonus will be paid out in September

The climate bonus in Austria will be paid out as early as September. The government decided a long time ago to introduce a climate bonus.

The climate bonus is intended to reward climate-friendly behavior. The climate bonus was then increased. The increase is called the cost-of-living bonus. Because the current expenses of many Austrians have risen sharply, people should be supported.

Payout earlier than planned

Every adult in Austria gets 500 euros. Each child gets 250 euros. The transfers should not have started until October. But now the payment will start earlier. 300,000 people will receive the bonus starting today. They have been chosen at random.

You don’t have to apply to get the bonus. All persons who have deposited their current account data with the tax office will automatically receive the bonus. Everyone else gets the bonus sent home as a voucher by post.
