Chaotic situation after several accidents on the E411: the closed motorway to Luxembourg

The situation is a bit chaotic on the roads this Thursday morning: two accidents occurred on the E411 towards Namur, reports Inforoutes on its website.

The first occurred near Sterpenich (province of Luxembourg) and caused major traffic jams. The roadway is closed and a local diversion has been set up via exit 32 “Weyler”.

The second took place near Rochefort (province of Namur), just before exit 22. Two caravans were involved in this accident, but the road is free once more and normalized traffic, punctuates Inforoutes.

A fatal accident in the Grand Duchy

In addition, a road accident that occurred last night in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg caused major traffic problems on the E411 upstream of the border post, reports the traffic police. Diversions are in place.

This fatal accident involving a van and a truck occurred this Thursday morning around 4 a.m. on the Luxembourg section of the E411, regarding one kilometer following the Sterpenich border post, the federal police were told.

The motorway had to be closed on the Grand Ducal side, causing several kilometers of queues in Belgium. A diversion has been put in place via interchange 33 in Sterpenich to send cars to the N4 via Steinfort. Heavy goods vehicles have to turn around to join the RN81 and the A28 towards France. A load shedding has also been put in place at the Weyler 32 interchange for cars so that they take the N81 and the A28, specifies the federal police.
