“He still hasn’t gotten off his jet-ski”: Mélenchon castigates Macron after his speech

This Wednesday, Emmanuel Macron chaired the Council of Ministers back to school. Highly anticipated, this meeting was even exceptionally filmed during his speech. In particular, he called on the French to sacrifice. He also called on the government to “unity” in the face of “the big shift” which marks the start of the school year with “the end of abundance”.

This end of sentence particularly made Jean-Luc Mélenchon fume. “Hearing something like that is incredible”he started on BFM TV. “He doesn’t realize how hurtful it can be for people. He still hasn’t gotten off his jet-ski. We’re in a country where there are nine million poor people. For his friends, the rich, abundance continues.”

Reassembled, he then explained that some of his friends were responsible for the evils of the time. “There has never been abundance, Mr Macron, but there has always been irresponsibility. That is to say people who believed that it was endless. That nature was a reserve endlessly available. There is looting and ransacking, and it goes on.”

For the former presidential candidate, Emmanuel Macron is unable to clearly identify the problems related to global warming. “Ecologically, I can’t blame him because I think he never understood anything”asserted Mélenchon. “He uses words he doesn’t know.”

According to him, the “French are not going to stop drinking water” but he explains that he “there is no more water” and that the President must absolutely understand that “It’s big multinational corporations that are draining the water tables.” These multinationals that Mélenchon calls “the friends” of Emmanuel Macron.

A statement that resonated with other left-wing politicians like Yannick Jadot. “It should above all be the end of denial, the end of inaction and also the end of a form of powerlessness in the face of lobbies”responded the environmentalist.
