The Pilots Association needs to issue an Eastar Jet flight certificate… Separation of management and investigation

On the 24th, the Korea Civil Aviation Pilots Association urged the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport to issue a Certificate of Operation (AOC) for Eastar Jet’s international air transportation business.

The Pilots Association issued a statement urging Eastar Jet’s AOC issuance on the same day, urging, “The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport should proceed with the pending AOC issuance procedure once more.”

The Pilots Association urged the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport to separate investigation and management and issue an AOC immediately for the development of the aviation industry and guarantee of the right to survival of employees. We are working hard to normalize Eastar Jet.”

He continued, “Staff are making a living by working part-time, surrogate driving, and delivering while waiting for the day when the plane will fly once more,” he said. It has all the necessary conditions,” he claimed.

“Despite these efforts, the government and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport are holding back the issuance of Eastar Jet’s AOC,” he said.

The guarantee of basic rights, such as the right to live and the right to work, guaranteed by the Constitution cannot be an exception to them.”

Eastar Jet is being investigated by the police over allegations that it submitted false accounting data to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport in the process of obtaining a license to change its international air transport business.

As the issuance of AOC was suspended due to a police investigation, the resumption of flights was also postponed indefinitely.

The police investigation is expected to take at least several months in the absence of business activities.
