Rivaldo, who visited Korea with a trophy as a ‘FIFA legend’, is considered the best shadow striker of all time.
Rivaldo also contributed to Brazil’s victory in the 2002 Korea-Japan World Cup and has a connection with Korea.
Former Korean soccer legend Cha Bum-geun, former national team coach and Jeonbuk Hyundai advisor (commissioner) Park Ji-seong, welcomed the trophy’s visit to Korea at the airport in the morning and attended the media public event in the followingnoon.
Korean national team coach Paulo Bento, Korea Football Association Vice Chairman Lee Yong-soo, and Coca-Cola Korea representative Choi Su-jeong also visited the venue to pray for the successful hosting of the Qatar World Cup and good luck for the Korean national team, which is three months away.

Former coach Cha posed with a uniform with the number ’10’ to commemorate his 10th consecutive final, while Park posed with a uniform with ’34’, the highest number of goals scored by Korea in Asia in 11 World Cups.
The trophy that visited Korea is not a fake ‘Winner’s Trophy’, but an ‘original trophy’ awarded to the winning country immediately following the final.
The original trophy can only be kept for a short time by the winning country, and when FIFA collects the original trophy following a certain period of time, the winning country keeps the winner’s trophy.
The original trophy is made of pure gold and weighs 6.142 kg. The image of two athletes holding the earth high. It is one of the most recognizable sports symbols in the world.
FIFA strictly manages trophies in consideration of their historicity and symbolism. Only very limited persons, such as former players who have won the World Cup like Rivaldo or the head of state, are allowed to touch the World Cup.
The Trophy Tour, which started in 2006, is the fifth time it has visited Korea, and it is the fourth time the Trophy has visited Korea following 2006, 2010, and 2014.
This year’s tour will be held in 51 countries around the world, including Qatar, the finalist country. Among the Asian countries that advanced to the finals, Korea will be the first to visit.
The World Cup Trophy will be unveiled to the public on the 25th at The Hyundai in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. It will be a valuable opportunity for soccer fans to see the original trophy up close and take a commemorative photo.
