Details of the ruling on a Sudanese resident who frightened his neighbors with a “dog” in Jeddah • Al-Marsad Newspaper

Al-Marsad newspaper: A court in Jeddah sentenced a Sudanese resident to 10 days in prison on charges of violating public morals, as he deliberately raised a dog inside his apartment and its barking disturbed the neighbours.

In detail, two women filed a complaint once morest the owner of the dog who lives in the same building, and stated in the lawsuit that the defendant kept a dog in his apartment, and caused harm and intimidation of residents, according to “Okaz”.

By asking the accused regarding the presentation of the veterinary quarantine system of the Gulf Cooperation Council and the animal welfare system of the Gulf Cooperation Council, and it was reviewed, the court did not find in what the accused submitted anything indicating that he was allowed to own the dog.

The sessions ended with the conviction of the accused. The court decided to imprison him for ten days, and the verdict included taking a pledge not to repeat what he had done, to stay away from harming others, and not to breed dogs in residential apartments.
