The Finals is a new multiplayer FPS that was also announced at Gamescom. Finally, this is what we thought we guessed through the very short and choppy video broadcast on Youtube. Digging a little on Steam, it seems that The Finals wants to offer a game taking over existing locations by offering players the possibility of completely destroying the levels. In fact, it even seems to be completely part of the gameplay. It’s a very enticing promise, but we’ll be careful not to get carried away before seeing real gameplay sequences.
Still on Steam, we understand that it will be a Free to Play with team play and that reputation will have an important role. Indeed, mention is made of sponsor and personalization. Hoping that the developers do not dwell too much on this point.
Note that this is the first FPS from Embark studio, a company founded by industry veterans: Stefan Strandberg, creative director at Dice from 2013 to 2018, Patrick Söderlund executive director at EA or the eminent Johan Andersson, one of the main developers at Paradox.
The Finals doesn’t have a release date yet, but you can already sign up for a next test phase on Steam.
