Rape on a playground in Rhineland-Palatinate |
Girl (14) fetches help with a secret hand signal
She was in great need and acted in the right way!
A 14-year-old is said to have been raped on a playground in Ludwigshafen (Rhineland-Palatinate). With a special hand signal, she drew attention to her precarious situation. Passers-by recognized the gesture and alerted the police.
The hand signal is called: “Signal for Help”. It allows victims of violence to secretly call for help. To do this, the palm of the hand is opened and the thumb is angled inwards. The remaining fingers are then placed on the thumb to form a fist.
The act is said to have happened last week: a 19-year-old is said to have “forced sexual acts” on the teenager in a playground, according to the Frankenthal public prosecutor.
The girl was taken to a hospital to have her injuries assessed. The officers arrested the alleged perpetrator. He was taken into custody on suspicion of rape.
