less expensive and with more autonomy

The electric 208 is now offered with the Like access finish. This configuration benefits from a slightly larger battery. Peugeot thus announces 400 km of autonomy.

There is something new in the offer of the 208 electric. In this fall, the e-208 goes down in range. The basic Like finish, until now reserved for the modest 75 hp naturally aspirated petrol engine, is now available with the electric motor.

This still develops up to 100 kW, or 136 hp. On the other hand, there is a revised battery. And contrary to what one might think, on this basic version, it is not smaller… but larger. The capacity increases from 50 to 52 kWh. Thanks to that, Peugeot announced a range of 400 km, once morest 362 km for the Active model (the rest of the range remaining at 50 kWh for the moment).

The other good news is that the equipment is not stripped down. The thermal Like version already has automatic emergency braking, active alert for involuntary crossing of a white line, recognition of speed signs, driver attention alert, electric front windows, cruise control, manual air conditioning or radio (on 5-inch touch screen).

The electric version benefits from automatic air conditioning and a 7-inch touch screen. It also adds electric rear windows, extended traffic sign recognition and heated mirrors.

In addition, its appearance is not as “basic” as the thermal Like, since here there are the 16-inch wheels with the wheel arches in glossy black. On the other hand, there are no LED “fangs” under the headlights. On board, there is the high console with the integrated armrest and the padded plastic dashboard.

So what’s the price? Excluding the €6,000 bonus, it is €33,000, which is €1,550 less than the e-208 Active variant. This one loses a lot of interest, because it is distinguished above all by the serial navigation, with the Mirror Screen function, and therefore has less autonomy.
