Two new countries to take part in NATO exercises near Russia’s borders

Military personnel from Japan and Sweden this year will take part for the first time in the annual “Worthy Partner” exercise, which will be held in Georgia under the auspices of the United States. This was reported in the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Georgia.

“The goal of Worthy Partner 2022 is to increase compatibility between Georgia, the United States, regional partners and allied countries to ensure stability and a secure environment in the Black Sea region. For the first time in the history of the exercises, military personnel from Japan and Sweden will take part, ”TASS reports.

In total, more than 2.4 thousand military personnel are involved in the exercises. Soldiers from Lithuania, Poland and Ukraine will be represented by a separate brigade in the training camp.

Earlier, the Security Council warned that Russia will respond symmetrically for Sweden and Finland to join NATO. In China, they described decisive measures of the Russian Federation in the event of NATO attacks to the Crimea. Senator Vladimir Dzhabarov has argued that tensions between Russia and NATO will begin to ease as soon as the alliance is willing to hear Moscow’s security arguments. Until then, Moscow will do everything to ensure national security.
