A rival for the Xbox Elite Series

Sony is following a strategy here that has paid off on the side of Xbox, and to a lesser extent Nintendo. Both manufacturers offer optional controllers with maximum functionality. We had been rather convinced by the Xbox Elite Series 2 controller in 2019 whose successor is now expected.

The controller obviously retains all the advantages of DualSense such as precise vibrations, adaptive triggers or the gyroscope.

The DualSense Edge above all offers more customization with the possibility of modifying the associations between keys and actions. The sensitivity of the sticks is also adjustable as well as the two adaptive triggers. These options, you can save them in several convenient profiles to have several settings according to the games.

Like the Elite Series 2, you will be able to change the sticks and adjust the additional buttons on the back. The resemblance goes as far as the transport box supplied with the controller which will be able to charge the device in USB-C, like the Microsoft controller.

Sony hasn’t released any details on its controller yet. It remains to discover more regarding the release of this controller, and of course its price. For comparison, the Xbox Elite Series 2 controller was launched at 169 euros. Manufacturers like Scuf also offer high-end models. We’ve tested the Scuf Reflex for PlayStation at 219.99 euros.
