Emirates News Agency – European stocks varied in performance, and the euro fell to its lowest level since 2002

Capitals, August 23 / WAM / European stock market indices witnessed a mixed performance during today’s trading, while the euro fell to its lowest level since the end of 2002.

By 01:43 pm UAE time, the “Euro Stoxx 50” index rose by 0.08%, equivalent to 3.07 points, to reach the level of 3661.29 points, according to European market data.

The German “DAX” index rose by 0.15%, or 19.4 points, to reach 13249.73 points, while the French “CAC 40” index increased by 2.24 points, or 0.03%, to reach 6380.98 points.

On the other hand, the British “FTSE 100” index declined by 36.89 points, or 0.49%, to reach the level of 7497.13 points, and the European “Stoxx 600” index decreased by 0.15%, or 0.67 points, to reach the level of 432.53 points.
