Saint Louis Day 2022

On the program for this Tuesday, August 23: 9 a.m., ceremony of the Liberation of the city of Sète at Rose-Roc, promenade Mal-Leclerc; 9:45 a.m., tribute to railway workers who died for France, Sète station; 2:30 p.m., departure of the “Vire-Vire”, lateen sail boat race organized by the Friends of the Museum of the Sea, in partnership with Voile Latine de Sète, Voile Latine de Bouzigues, association of the Mediterranean Latin Sails Union , from the Saint-Louis mole to the beach; 10 p.m., closing fireworks from the breakwater.

Jazz concert with Marta Project

“Jazz Thursdays” in Mèze

The Caveau de Beauvignac 109, route from Pézenas to Mèze, offers Thursday August 25 from 7:30 p.m., a jazz Thursday with “Ella Trio”. Cécile Andrée, Cathy Escoffier and Guillaume Renard cheerfully revisit part of the enormous repertoire of Ella Fitzgerald “First Lady of Song”, first lady of song. “The cinema of the sea” at the Jean Vilar Theater

The Théâtre de la Mer offers an outdoor cinema session Wednesday August 24 at 8:45 p.m. On the program, concert by “The Nashville Cats” (rock’n’roll) then at 9:30 p.m. the film “Elvis” by Baz Luhrmann. The life and musical work of Elvis Presley through the prism of his complex relationship with his sulphurous manager, Colonel Tom Parker… Price of 10, 7.50 and 5 €, doors open at 8.30 p.m., picnic picnic possible, refreshment bar on site.

11e Beach Comics Festival

The Media Arts team presents its 11th edition of the “BD Plage” summer comic strip festival, from August 26 to 28, on the Lido beach, bar-restaurant “La Canopée”. The guest of honor is the designer Marko author of “Les Godillots”, “The day when…”, “The Brigade of memories”… On the program for this Friday, August 26, at 4 p.m. on the patio of the Mitterrand media library, meeting with the screenwriter Ingrid Chabbert who presents her latest album with the designer Berny “Rosamée”, “Autobiography of a courgette” or “Sixty spring in winter”…, followed by a Book signing. To date, she has published more than 50 books aimed at toddlers… Free entry.

Festival “Sur tous les Tons” Chapel of the Penitents in Mèze

The chapel of the Penitents, place Mgr-Hiral in Mèze, offers friday august 26 at 9 p.m., “La Vie Vivante”, piano and nomadic poetry. A duet between Ada Mondès and Jérôme Medeville, Ada’s texts on selected pieces by Rachmaninov, Albeniz and Ravel, Debussy, Vivaldi… and personal compositions. Exhibitions at the Regional Center for Contemporary Art

The CRAC at 26, quai Aspirant-Herber exhibits 10 artists and their guests who will follow one another from August 5 to September 25. For the 3rd consecutive year, the museum and Patrons of the South Montpellier-Sète-Béziers are joining forces for a hybrid, energetic and intensive event through exhibitions, workshops, screenings, concerts, performances… Free visits every day, from 12:30 p.m. to 19h ; on weekends, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. and closed on Tuesdays. François Boisrond at the POP gallery

In addition to the Paul Valéry museum, the Pop Galerie at 15, quai du Pavois-d’Or, hosts until August 31, the various drawings of the artist François Boisrond. Visible from Wednesday to Saturday and by appointment at 06 16 45 16 18.

Jean-Jacques François and Michel Richard exhibit Peyre gallery

The Galerie Peyre at 10, quai Rhin-et-Danube welcomes these two artists all summer long for their exhibition “Psyché”, in the month of August. One is a painter and the other a photographer-graphic designer and their creations rub shoulders in a colorful universe. Open daily, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

William MacKendree exhibits Yves Faurie gallery

The Yves Faurie gallery at 6, quai Léopold-Suquet is hosting William MacKendree’s “Salt and Sky” exhibition until September 30. This American artist has been surveying the Listel saltworks for more than a year, sketching sketches to create large paintings. “Last Supper” Chapel of the Quartier-Haut

The Quartier-Haut chapel, rue Borne, hosts until August 28, the exhibition “Mise en Cène”, private collection of Roger Castang. Works by 32 artists to come and contemplate, including André Cervera, Les Pritchards, KRM, Yves Hayat, and many others. Free admission from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., closed on Tuesdays.

Exhibition “Mosaics of the sea” Tarbouriech room

The Tarbouriech hall of the Théâtre de la Mer, promenade Maréchal-Leclerc, welcomes until Wednesday August 31, the “Sea Mosaics” exhibition by Jean-Jacques Santini. These mosaic paintings are made from materials recovered on the Sète beaches, fragments of glass, tiles, pottery, sandstone… as well as unpublished canvases including “Les joutes” and some bronzes. Expo visible every day, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Free access.

“Artists on walks” room of the Escaliers de la Macaronade

The Escaliers de la Macaronade room, Quai Général-Durand sur La Marine, welcomes, until Tuesday 30 August, the association Arts 7 en Scènes for its exhibition “Artistes en Balades”. Visible every day from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and musical entertainment on Wednesday August 24 and Friday August 26 at 5 p.m.
