In the past few hours, rumors have been circulating once more regarding a major PlayStation games showcase that is scheduled to take place in September. As several sources have confirmed, we can look forward to one or two surprises during the event.
As is well known, those responsible for Sony Interactive Entertainment decided this year not to appear at Gamescom 2022 in Cologne.
However, the various rumors of the past few weeks have already suggested that the PlayStation community will not be bored this summer despite everything. Instead, the rumor persisted that Sony Interactive Entertainment is preparing a major games showcase that will take place in September 2022.
While those responsible at Sony Interactive Entertainment remain silent on this subject, several insider sources have independently confirmed next month’s big PlayStation games showcase in the past few hours.
Multiple first-party announcements planned?
Xbox Era co-founder Nick Baker, who is considered a reliable source, also reports that at least three sources have independently confirmed to him that the games showcase in question will take place on September 8, 2022. It goes on to say that Sony Interactive Entertainment intends to use the event to unveil new first-party productions while also showcasing previously announced titles in development at PlayStation Studios.
Although no specific names were mentioned, we can assume that the first-party titles mentioned include “God of War: Ragnarök”, which will be presented once more in detail before its release in November of this year. In addition, the sources report several “big comebacks”. However, it is still unclear what all this means in practice.
More news on the topic:
It would be possible that titles should be presented here that have been in development for quite a while, but have recently made themselves rare. But the possible return of classic brands that have not been taken into account in recent years might also be meant.
If the information from the insider sources is correct, we will find out more in a few weeks.
I don’t know 100% it’s true. But that’s the date I just got told too. pic.twitter.com/cxHREcAdsT
