A deadly drama. Two young people driving an electric scooterwere rammed by a private ambulance while traveling in a lane reserved for buses and two-wheelers, according to reports of the regional daily Le Progrès.
“We were called at 6:20 p.m. for a scooter accident hit by a private ambulance (…) When we arrived on the scene, the two people, who were traveling on the same scooter at the time of the accident, were in cardiac arrest, ”explained a fire department official.
“They died quickly,” said the officer, who said they were an underage boy and girl but might not specify their ages. The accident occurred at 5 Quai du Maréchal Joffre in the second arrondissement of Lyon.
A brutal collision
The victims “were traveling on a lane of buses and the ambulance that took them rammed went into action,” he said. Apart from the two drivers, no one was inside the ambulance.
According BFM TV, the collision was particularly brutal. Witnesses who attended the scene said that the two young people struck were thrown several meters.
The driver of this one, as well as his colleague, were transported to the hospital Édouard Herriot “because they were in shock”, concluded this same source.
