Morocco acquires a new Canadair against forest fires

Morocco has acquired a new Canadair plane of the “CL-215” type specialized in aerial interventions once morest fires, within the framework of an agreement concluded with a Canadian company. The new aircraft has successfully passed the test phase, says Hespress citing an informed source, while two aircraft of the same model will arrive in Morocco early next year.

Morocco has concluded the agreement to acquire these social aircraft, in order to strengthen its fleet to put out the fires, recalls the same source, noting that this agreement comes following the recent wave of fires in the kingdom. And to clarify that the manufacturer of these aircraft has reduced its production rate due to its internal situation.

Morocco is the only African country that has this type of aircraft. The current fleet consists of five C-415 aircraft.
