US: 3 police officers suspended after video showed them violently beating man during arrest

Three Arkansas law enforcement officers have been fired following a video showing them emerged online beating a man, Randall Worcester, during an arrest, reports The Washington Post.

In the video posted on TikTok and viewed millions of times on Twitter, an officer is seen holding down a man while another hits him repeatedly in the head. A third strikes him several violent knee blows in the lower back. Worcester was then taken to the hospital before being imprisoned.

Faced with the controversy, the governor of the State of Arkansas reacted and announced thestate police investigate. “I have spoken with Colonel Bill Bryant of the Arkansas State Police and the local arrest incident in Crawford County will be investigated pursuant to video evidence and request of the prosecutor“, wrote on Twitter Asa Hutchinson.

According l’agence Associated Presspolice said they received a report that the man allegedly threatened an employee of a convenience store in the town of Mulberry. When officers confronted Randall Worcester, he allegedly pushed a deputy to the ground and punched him in the back of the head, which allegedly led to the arrest seen in the video.
