Léo: The Rayimi association involves traditional leaders in the fight once morest HIV/AIDS

Léo, August 22, 2022 (AIB) – The Rayimi association with the financial support of UN AIDS, organized last Friday, a workshop followed by a caravan in Léo, for the benefit of customary leaders in order to encourage their commitment. to fight HIV/AIDS.

The objective of these activities is to encourage the commitment of customary leaders to fight once morest HIV/AIDS, a pandemic with a female face in the Center-West region, mainly in the provinces of Sissili and Sanguié.

This meeting was chaired by the prefect of the department of Léo, Moctar Ilboudo representing the High Commissioner of the province of Sissili.

The exchanges with these customary leaders on the issue of HIV/AIDS, enabled them to realize the merits of the initiative of His Majesty Naba 1st of Issouka through the implementation of such a project.

They also marked their unconditional support alongside the Rayimi association to meet the challenges facing this pandemic which continues to circulate in their region.

Leaving from the youth and culture center of Léo, the caravan traveled through the main arteries of the city to end up at the starting point.

His Majesty Naba 1st of Issouka hailed the remarkable presence and support of the customary chiefs on whom his structure now intends to rely to pass on useful messages and raise awareness regarding HIV/AIDS prevention.

It is a total satisfaction, he said, in the sense that when red caps come together for a social cause, the populations can only follow and accompany for the achievement of the results, he hinted.

The prefect, Moctar Ilboudo, on behalf of the High Commissioner, translated all his thanks to the guarantors of tradition for their unfailing commitment to support the Rayimi association in its fight.

A fight that aims to help lower the prevalence rate among women but also to block the way to new infections, especially through mother-to-child transmission in the region and hence Burkina Faso.

He reassured that the entire administration headed by the first magistrate of the province, is committed to the same cause.

Also, he promised that they will put together their synergies to be able to meet this challenge.

He finally expressed all his gratitude and recognition to his majesty Naba 1st of Issouka through the Rayimi association for this great initiative.

This workshop with the customary comes following a first meeting held on Friday July 22, 2022 in Léo with the administrative authorities of the Province of Sissili and some structures on the issue of HIV / AIDS.

The Center-West region comes first with a prevalence rate of 2.3% of HIV/AIDS infection among women aged 15 to 49, once morest the national rate which is around 0.7%.
