“Eddie Bauer” re-landings in Japan from the 2023 Spring/Summer season – WWDJAPAN

ITOCHU Corporation has acquired the sales and license rights for the US outdoor brand “EDDIE BAUER” in the Japanese market. We have signed a license agreement with the apparel company Mizujin, and will start handling it in Japan from the 2023 spring/summer season. In addition to wholesale to department stores, specialty stores, fashion select shops, and sports specialty stores, it aims to open directly managed stores and open an official EC site.

Eddie Bauer was founded in 1920 in Seattle, USA. In addition to announcing the first down jacket “Skyliner” in the United States, in 1953 he worked on down wear for the American K2 Himalayan expedition. In May 2021, it was acquired by American brand management companies AUTHENTIC BRANDS GROUP (ABG) and Spark Group (SPARC GROUP). In December of the same year, all businesses including all stores and e-commerce in Japan were closed and withdrawn from the Japanese market.

Mizujin is an apparel company headquartered in Gifu. It plans and manufactures the US brand FIRST DOWN, and holds the license rights for ARNOLD PALMER in Japan.
