Military personnel seized weapons of different types, 30 cartridges, gunpowder and explosives.
Officials of the Bolivarian National Guard captured five presumed members of the “el Run” gang, in the Sifontes municipality.
After carrying out investigative tasks, the military personnel managed to apprehend the group this Saturday followingnoon at the “El Piloto” estate, located in the Airport sector, in Tumeremo.
The military personnel seized three .16 caliber shotguns, a non-industrialized firearm, machine gun type, caliber 9 mm, with a magazine; and a facsimile of a rifle-type firearm.
They also collected 30 cartridges of different calibers, a portable radio, five cell phones, 30 grams of gunpowder and 105 grams of explosive material.
Authorities retained three doses of alleged marijuana weighing approximately 133.5 grams; a motorcycle and notebooks with data on logistics distribution in the mining sector.
According to official information, the group would be linked to different crimes in said municipality in the south of Bolívar state. They did not release the identities of those arrested.
The procedure was made available to the Public Ministry of the entity.
