“Pressure on Putin”
Brandstätter says: Ghost airports, around 1,000 companies that have left the country, which alone means the loss of up to five million jobs, the falling energy income and over a million well-trained people who have left Russia so far, would clearly show that Russia is “economically on the bottom”.
The series of attacks inside Russia and in occupied Crimea on railway tracks, ammunition depots, chemical plants and other infrastructure needed for warfare shows that more and more Russians are realizing that this is wrong and that they are being lied to. “If these democratic forces in Russia come forward now, then we have to support them. At the same time, the pressure on Putin must be maintained,” concludes Brandstätter and appeals to the government, all parties that want to stop Putin and want peace in Ukraine to a table to discuss a joint approach.
