It was Saturday’s main basketball event. On the Seattle side, LeBron James, Jayson Tatum and other cool names came together to compete in Jamal Crawford’s Pro-Am league, all in front of an audience that had come in droves to meet their heroes. Unfortunately, the parquet floor of the Royal Brougham Pavilion has acted up…
The expectation was obviously huge. For a city like Seattle that breathes basketball but has still not recovered an NBA franchise since the departure of the Sonics 15 years ago, the arrival of LeBron and Co. represented an unmissable opportunity in the eyes of ball lovers. orange. The room was shielded everywhere, the temperature quickly rose… to come down just as quickly. Even before half-time, the organization decided to send everyone home, the fault of a wet parquet floor which might not guarantee the safety of the players. Must admit that there, in terms of air conditioning, we have rarely done better. A rather symbolic outcome of an evening – it must be said – a little chaotic. Between the fire alarm that went off before the start of the match, Chet Holmgren’s little sore ankle in the first minutes, the madness around the arrival of LeBron on the floor and therefore the state of the latter , the risks eventually outweighed the rewards. And there’s nothing worse for a Pro-Am league to be the scene of an incident involving an NBA player.
However, this did not prevent Seattle fans, and those who were on their screens that night, from attending a few highlights during the twenty minutes when the players found themselves on the field. Certainly it was playing at two times an hour to avoid any drama, but we might see Jayson Tatum chain the strings, LeBron let go of a few big tomars while warming up with a no-name, or even Paolo Banchero face Dejounte Murray in one- once morest one. It’s already that.

Well… the game was just ended, with 5:47 left in 2nd quarter.
Jamal Crawford says for the safety of the professionals, they have to end it. LeBron, Tatum wave. Crowd runs on floor.

Damn, had to call the game because the floor is too slippery. It’s super duper hot and humid in here. Too risky with all these millionaires in here.

that was the greatest 20 minutes of seattle history

LeBron, Tatum, Banchero, Holmgren, Dejounte, Aaron Gordon, Isaiah Thomas, Marjon Beauchamp, Tari Eason, they were all there to give Seattle fans a show to remember. The state of the floor unfortunately prevented the show from running properly, enough to leave everyone hungry. We have nevertheless had the confirmation of one thing: we will have to think very seriously regarding bringing a franchise to Seattle…
