The General Directorate of Traffic announced that the expatriate, following leaving with a final exit visa and returning to Saudi Arabia with a new resident identity, can review the Traffic Department and apply to replace the old driver’s license with the new ID number.
She emphasized that if the expatriate’s driver’s license expires, then he leaves with a final exit visa, and he returns once more to Saudi Arabia, the fees and violations will be paid, the medical examination is conducted, the traffic department is reviewed and the application is submitted.
The General Directorate of Traffic indicated that an expatriate coming to Saudi Arabia on a visit visa may drive with a valid international or foreign license for a period of one year or its expiry date, whichever comes first.
It is noteworthy that the requirements for issuing a driver’s license (private): completion of 18 years, not have been convicted of drug use, promotion or possession, safety from diseases and disabilities that impede driving, passing a driving test, paying fees, paying fines (if any) For non-Saudis, a regular residence permit is required.
As for those who have completed 17 years of age, they can obtain a driving permit, bring personal photos and a medical examination, and submit an application to a driving school.
