Al-Ansar qualified for the final match following leading the second group with 4 points, following defeating Al-Najma 3/1 and then drawing with Al-Tadamon Tire 2/2.

Al-Ansar defeated Shabab Al-Sahel 3-0 in the semi-finals of the tournament.

Al-Ahed qualified following leading the first group with 6 points, following beating Al-Borg 2-0 and Shabab Al-Sahel 1-0.

Al-Ahed defeated Al-Tadamon Tire 2-1 in the semi-finals to qualify for the final match.

Nejmeh holds the record for the most winning team in the Elite Cup in Lebanon with 12 titles, followed by Al-Ahed with 5 titles, while Al-Ansar won the title twice.

Al-Ahed won the title in 2008, 2010, 2011, 2013 and 2015, while Al-Ansar won the title twice in 1997 and 2000.

The last two matches between the two teams ended in a draw, while Al-Ahed won the league 2-0 on November 21, and the last victory for Al-Ansar was on July 16, 2021.

Al-Ansar, led by its technical director, Gamal Taha, seeks to win the title, which has been absent for 22 years.

Gamal Taha, Al-Ansar coach, imposed a state of intense focus on his team’s players to seize this tournament before the start of the league.

Al-Ansar is counting on the squad that includes goalkeeper Nazih Asaad, and in front of him is the quartet Nassar Nassar, Maxim Aoun, Khaled Al-Ali and Hassan Shaito in the defense line.
