And former student of the Military High School General Belgrano of Santa Fe stabbed to death the driver of a combi that transferred cadets from the school and wounded three from them. He tried to escape by taking hostages but was arrested by the police. The aggressor is 19 years old and had been expelled from the institution for misconduct and poor performance at the end of 2021, according to information provided by the Army.
This noon, the combi that carried a group of 10 cadets who had left Franco, stopped to buy bills in the parking lot of a bakery in the Colastiné Norte neighborhood, located at kilometer 1.5 of the Provincial Route 1.
In these circumstances, the murderer, dressed in the clothes worn in high school, attacked the driver of the combi, Rubén Walesbert71, who received a stabbed in the neck and bled to death in the place. Later, he injured three students. Two of the wounded a 16 year old male y a 17-year-old woman, were admitted to the José María Cullen hospital with neck and face injuries and are out of danger. The remaining victim is 14 years old and was taken to the local Children’s Hospital with minor injuries to one hand.
According to the information provided by the victims to their relatives, the aggressor got into the van and fired uncontrollably, causing injuries to some of the cadets while others were able to get off. The assailant was identified as MK, 19 years oldfrom the town of Humboldt, located 60 kilometers west of the provincial capital.
The former high school student knew well the route that was made every Friday transferring the students who left Franco to San Javier where, in addition, the murdered driver lived.
Chase and hostage taking
To escape, MK took the students hostage that were on top of the combi and thus began a chase along Provincial Route 1. The Police managed to stop the vehicle regarding 5 kilometers from where the attack took place. The aggressor was arrested and made available to the Intentional Homicide Prosecutor’s Office of the city of Santa Fesources indicated.
Spokesmen for the Public Ministry of the Accusation (MPA) said that this Sunday he will be taken to an impeachment hearing. “The injured youths are accompanied and assisted by the authorities of the Liceo Militar, an organization that remains attentive to the police investigation that has begun,” said the statement from the Argentine Army, which also expressed solidarity “with the relatives of the deceased driver.”
