The Japan Basketball Association (JBA) will hold the 98th Emperor’s Cup and 89th Empress’s Cup All Japan Basketball Championships from September (Sponsored by: Japan Basketball Association / Co-sponsored by: Kyodo News and member newspapers of Kyodo News) will be held.
This tournament is the most authoritative tournament in Japan, in which teams/clubs belonging to a wide range of categories, from the prefectural level to the domestic top league, participate and compete for the top position in Japan in a complete tournament system. Last year and the year before, due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection, some tournaments were held on a reduced scale, such as the cancellation of the first round, but this season, 101 men’s teams and 61 women’s teams will be held as usual. team will participate.
